Naidoc Week

NAIDOC Week at Bridgetown Primary was celebrated from July 22nd to 26th. On Friday Room 9 hosted the assembly which combined their class item and a celebration of NAIDOC Week. Aunty Sue Kelly began by presenting the Welcome to Country, the whole school sang the Gina Willaims Wanjoo song and the Room 9 students presented a range of interesting information about our First Nations Peoples.

All students were involved in a range of activities related to NAIDOC Week. Students from Year 4-6 experienced making rain sticks, nature bracelets, a Patty Mills activity, making damper and cooking it over a campfire at school in the nature play area. Pre-Primary to Year 3 students experienced creating nature bracelets, a collaborative snake collage, hand printing and making the Aboriginal flag and reading the story The Echidna and the Shade Tree. All students thoroughly enjoyed learning about our culture and history.
