About Us

Bridgetown Primary School was formerly established on 1st February 1870 and the school moved to its current site in 1914. Our buildings are a mix of historic and contemporary which blend together to provide a diverse learning environment. Bridgetown Primary became an Independent Public School in 2015 in recognition of our capacity and responsibility to make decisions to best support educational outcomes for our students.

Children are our Priority

Our Kindergarten to Year 6 student enrolment is drawn from the Bridgetown town site and the surrounding areas, with seven buses transporting students to school. Given the size of our school many classes are multi levelled which provides students with the ability to both consolidate and extend their learning.

We look forward to supporting students through the provision of a wide range of opportunities to develop their skills, interests, knowledge and resilience.

The learning program reflects the range of needs and abilities of our diverse group of students; catering for students with special needs, gifted and talented students, future musicians and keen sports people.

Leadership

Student leadership is integral to school organisation. Our students take pride in their school and are encouraged to show initiative and actively participate and contribute to our community.

Strong and supportive partnerships between parents, students and staff are valued and embedded in school practices; we know that by working together, outcomes for our students are enhanced.

Building Relationships

Our teachers work hard to build respectful, trusting relationships with our families, making our parents partners in their child’s education.

Parents play significant roles in our school, supporting many projects and initiatives and taking on leadership roles through our School Board and P&C.

It is a privilege to be Principal of this great school and I am committed to working with staff and our community to ensure success for every student.

Focus

Our focus is to encourage our students to be academically robust; to develop independence in their learning; be technologically adept and environmentally aware.  Our school is inclusive to all students and our flexible learning environments support the needs of our students and their learning.

Vision

Bridgetown Primary School, through active parent-teacher-student cooperation, seeks to provide a caring, educative community where our students can develop the understanding and skills relevant to their needs, and make a positive contribution to society.

Values

The 7 core values of our school code of conduct underpin the expected Code of Conduct for all members of our school community.  The values outline how we all act and behave in our school.

  • Responsibility-Making good choices even when no-one is watching.
  • Respect-Valuing people, things and ourselves.
  • Cooperation-Working and playing together positively and fairly.
  • Commitment-Never give up and pushing yourself to do your best.
  • Self-Discipline-Having control, acting instead of reacting.
  • Acceptance-Understanding that everyone is different and everyone matters.
  • Honesty-Telling the truth and owning your choices.

Our Moral Purpose
